September 24, 2009 - The Greensboro Children's Museum will have a special groundbreaking ceremony for its new Edible Schoolyard on Thursday at 4pm. Alice Walters, renowned chef, author and Slow Food activist, will serve as a special guest at the ceremony. The Edible Schoolyard at the Museum, scheduled to open in the spring of 2010, will feature an outdoor gardening classroom, teaching kitchens, organic vegetables, herbs and fruits and edible flowers.

September 30, 2008-September 30, 2009 - Pink in the park is a free Breast Cancer Awareness Event that will be held at Center City Park in downtown Greensboro. This event will educate those who attend about women's health issues with a focus on breast health issues. There will be radiologists, physicians, and breast cancer survivors available to answer questions. At the event there will be a fashion show, free chair massages, music and much more.
